Card Groove

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 6, 2026

Card Groove ("we," "us," or "our") operates cardgroove.com (the "Site"), a free directory of sports card and trading card shows. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using Card Groove, you agree to this policy.

Information We Collect

Information you provide directly. When you create a free account, you provide information like your name and email address. If you save shows to your account, we store those preferences. If you submit a card show through our submission form, we collect the information you enter about that event.

Information collected automatically. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect standard internet log information and visitor behavior — for example, the pages you visit, how long you stay, your approximate location (based on IP address), the type of device and browser you use, and the site that referred you. This information is processed in a way that does not directly identify you.

Location information. If you use the "Use my current location" feature, your browser will ask for permission to share your location with us. We use this only to show you nearby card shows. We do not store your precise location after the search.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate and improve the Site

  • Show you relevant card shows based on your location or zip code

  • Maintain your account and the shows you've saved

  • Review and publish show submissions

  • Understand site traffic and usage patterns through Google Analytics

  • Respond to questions or requests you send us

Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies for two purposes: keeping you logged in to your account, and Google Analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features (like saved shows) may not work without them.

To opt out of Google Analytics specifically, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We do not currently use advertising trackers, third-party marketing cookies, or sell data to advertisers.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited cases:

  • Service providers. We use Google Analytics (operated by Google) and our website hosting provider, who process data on our behalf.

  • Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

  • Business transfers. If Card Groove is ever acquired or merged, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Your Choices and Rights

You can:

  • Update or delete your account at any time by contacting us

  • Disable cookies or use private browsing

  • Opt out of Google Analytics using the link above

  • Decline location sharing in your browser

Depending on where you live (for example, California, Colorado, or the EU), you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. To make a request, email us at the address below.

California residents have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — though we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA.

Data Retention

We keep account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we'll remove your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain it for legal reasons. Google Analytics data is retained according to Google's default retention settings.

Children's Privacy

Card Groove is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be communicated through the Site.
